We are a strong community of smart, honest and inclusive minds who want to live life to the full on our own terms. Whilst tech and social media has connected us in ways in which we could have never imagined, it has also led to more people feeling socially isolated, lonely and conversely more disconnected than ever before. We know how central our community and environment are to a happier life and so that's why we are more than just an online platform. We are a real life, social community who meet together, eat together and play together.

A big part of The Community is to showcase and profile the 'ordinary' women doing extraordinary things. There is no typical 'Above Water' woman as we believe we are all individual and wonderfully unique, each with our own hopes and fears. We hear from the game changers. We learn from the unicorns. We listen to the rule breakers. We hope that this provides a source of inspiration, especially for The Future Generation, whilst also helping to challenge perceptions of women in the 21st Century. Whilst we may have come along way since MaryAnn Evans had to write under the male pen name of George Eliot, we still have a long way to go until men and women are on equal footing. The 9.4% gender pay gap highlights this implicitly.
